When it comes to musculoskeletal issues such as neck pain, back pain and sciatica, people will either visit their doctor or opt for a chiropractor. Since chiropractic care is considered a holistic approach to pain, people will often consider a doctor first. Although seeing a doctor for musculoskeletal pain seems to be the more reassuring thing to do, a study has proven otherwise and instead recommends seeking chiropractic care first.
This study surveyed 719 patients with musculoskeletal pain issues, 403 of which headed to a doctor and the other 316 that chose a chiropractor. The results showed that the patients that went to a doctor had significantly less pain reduction than those that went to a the chiropractor. It also showed that those who went to a doctor were less satisfied with the results of the care and had higher health care costs.
This study shows overwhelming support for why musculoskeletal pain is better served by chiropractic care treatment. Dealing with musculoskeletal pain? Book a chiropractic care appointment here.
