Three Stretches For Back Pain

Back pain is a very common problem. The reasons one gets back pain can be due to several conditions. Stretching can be of significant help when it comes to back pain because of its ability to improve blood flow and mobility. Here are three chiropractic stretches that can help you with back pain.

Before considering using these stretches, it’s important to first consult with a chiropractor or specialist. Depending on the root of the problem, stretching that requires bending can actually make the problem worse. That’s the case with sciatica.

Modified Cobra

For the modified cobra, first lie down on the floor face down with your full body extended. Then bend your elbows while your hands remain flat on the floor on par with your chest. Then raise your head and upper body while keeping your lower body still. Hold this position for 10 seconds and repeat 5 times.

Knee To Chest Stretch

This stretch might be familiar to you, as did it back in school during physical education class. All you have to do is lay back on the floor with your legs straight. Then bring one leg toward your chest until you feel the stretch or burn. Do that for 20 seconds on each side.

Child’s Pose

The child pose is a very good overall stretching exercise for the body. First, sit down on your knees and place your hands on the floor. Then try to make your toes touch while pushing your hips backwards as you bend your knees. Then extend your arms forward while allowing your head to fall forward with your hands face down on the floor. You will find yourself in a praying position but feel a good stretch. Repeat the child pose very slowly at least five times.
