How it works
A Denneroll is a precisely contoured foam orthotic that you lie back on, positioned at the exact level of the spine we’re correcting. Your own body weight and gravity do the work: the contoured fulcrum applies a slow, sustained stretch in the direction opposite to your structural problem. This is the same “mirror-image” principle behind Chiropractic BioPhysics — we load the spine toward its ideal shape and hold it there.
For a neck that has lost its natural forward curve, the cervical Denneroll sits under the mid-neck and gently encourages that curve to return. For a lower back that has flattened or shifted, the lumbar Denneroll restores the inward curve and unloads the discs and nerves. Sessions usually run a few minutes at a time and build up gradually — we start short and increase as your tissue adapts.
The orthotic is rarely used alone. It’s one tool inside a written care plan that also includes specific spinal adjustments, mirror-image traction in the office, and targeted exercise. The adjustment restores motion; the Denneroll remodels the curve; the exercise holds the gain. Together they produce structural change that lasts longer than any one of them on its own.
Connective tissue remodels slowly, so this is a project measured in weeks and months, not days. Many patients wear their Denneroll daily through an active correction phase of several weeks to a few months, then taper to a maintenance schedule once the curve holds on its own. I set the exact dosage to your starting measurements — there’s no single number that’s right for everyone.
